What hurts a Narcissist forever?

When you don't give them any reaction or emotion and when you're very neutral in confrontations and conversations.

The reaction can be positive or negative. They need it either way. It could be your positive attention, your praise, admiration, or it could be your anger, sadness, or resentment. They rely on any of these because when they get an emotional response from you, they feel in control. And when they feel in control, they feel better about themselves. It's a very leech-like way of living. They depend on you more than how much you think you depend on them. So, when you don't give them any response when you don't feel their needs with emotions, when you become as uninteresting as a grey rock in fact, if you use the grey rock method, which means to act boring and unexciting it triggers them. It shocks them deeply. Some will react by trying harder to get something from you, while others will leave because it becomes too dull for them. There's no thrill, no emotional drama, no chaos, and no satisfaction from mistreating you.

When you start living your best life and thriving without them.

A narcissist wants you to be reliant on them constantly. They believe and want you to think that you're nothing without them. They want to keep you trapped in their control and darkness forever. They want you to feel broken indefinitely. They can't bear to see you rise from ashes like a phoenix. They can't stand seeing your growth. But when you do all of that, when after experiencing narcissistic abuse, you heal, rise from the ashes like a phoenix, embrace yourself and your experiences, accept yourself as a human being, let go of the self-doubt they planted in your mind, discard the negative beliefs and feelings they've embedded in your psyche, you become a symbol of liberation.

When you show kindness.

When you display a quality or trait that they themselves do not possess, a narcissist wants you to be as dark as they are because they've been through a lot of trauma. But their choices have shaped them into who they are now choices that reinforced their personality traits and created the ego structure in which they're trapped. They want to see you experience the same despair. They want to break you and keep you in that state. But even after enduring so much abuse, if you're still able to show compassion, give love, and be kind to others, this deeply unsettles and shocks them. Since they can't feel these emotions themselves, it makes them question their own abilities.
